Our Beginning
Christie Electric was started by Gary and his wife Vera in 1983. With a 1970 Dodge van with 200,000 miles on it, the support of his wife Vera and a desire to be his own boss, Christie Electric’s first office was in the basement of the family home. A master electrician since 1980, Gary’s only advertisement was the word of mouth from his loyal customers.
The newly opened shop allowed Gary to preform quality work and provide customers with the highest level of satisfaction. By 1985, the business was so successful that Vera began to run the office, allowing Gary to focus solely on the quality of work in the field. Their son Micheal helped out during this junior high and high school years and during the summer while he attended college at the University of North Carolina. Soon after Micheal joined the business full time.
